Effect of Diversity in the Board of Directors and Top Management Team on Corporate Social Responsibility

Abstract This study analyzes the effect of corporate governance, with an emphasis on gender and age diversity in board Top Management Team, Corporate Social Responsibility Brazil. The sample was composed Brazilian firms governance published CVM reference form, financial information Economatica® database, CSR assessed by CSRHub 2016-2017 biennium, a total 194 firm-year observations. Diversity is measured presence women, heterogeneity, average directors top management team. results indicate that higher team have favorable practices firms. Additionally, it observed heterogeneity among members has negative influence practices. research contributes to better understanding behavior more diverse boards teams regarding strategies.
